More than 120 participants took part in educational workshops and scientific presentations under the guidance of tutors from the EXPERYMENT Science Centre in Gdynia.

Children's Day on 1 June 2019 was celebrated at the Embassy of Poland in Copenhagen with a Science Picnic including workshops led by educators of the EXPERYMENT Science Centre in Gdynia. The tutors proved that learning mathematics, physics or chemistry in a friendly form can be excellent entertainment.

The participants in the workshop “What a universe!” learnt the basic laws of astronomy, built their own rockets and tubes with constellations of stars. As part of the event “All colours of the rainbow”, young scientists produced colourful jelly beans, played with diffraction glasses and prisms as well as carried out experiments with UV light. The young people were also invited to the “Encryption School”, where they learnt about the Caesar’s cipher, mirrored text and ciphers used by Leonardo da Vinci, and they also heard about the Enigma cipher – the principles behind it, and how it was broken.

All participants of the Picnic received books and gifts from Experyment Science Centre.

The event was organised with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (funds designated for cooperation with Polish diaspora and Poles abroad).
